Kidscovery: A Place Where Jesus Comes First

At Habitat we believe that families are the primary place where life is taught and learned.  We desire to partner with parents in order to help facilitate bringing a child up in the knowledge of God and the Bible.  We want to empower parents with tools and training as well as provide opportunities to learn and have fun as families all the while exploring who God is and what He desires for us.

We've created a whole approach to family ministry we call Kidscovery.  It's a place where we teach and explore what it means to put Jesus first.  As we teach and demonstrate what it means to put Jesus first to children of all ages, we can help ensure that these boys and girls grow into men and women who live the Christ-centered life.  And when we partner with families, we begin raising generations of healthy, Christ-centered  families for years to come.

From nursery to high school, we want to be strategic in helping shape Christianity as a world-view in the lives of children and students.  We see this as an organic process that takes place in the living rooms, bedrooms, car-rides and around the dinner tables of our families.  We believe that an equipped mom and dad are the best Biblical teachers and constant examples a child or student could have.

We see family ministry at Habitat as a process rather than a Biblical babysitter.  During Habitat weekends, children and students will learn the same Big idea concepts as the adults in carefully crafted environments by trained and screened adults.  Each week a handout will be given that shows our goals for the month, verses we talked about, the Big idea point that was discussed as well as suggested activities and discussion points for families to engage in together.  Family ministry is more than a program, its a way we see the Church in action.
